Well over a year ago I decided to start wearing cologne, something I very seldom did and only during super rare occasions (so rare I could count on one hand how many times I wore cologne in public). Not sure how I stumbled upon it exactly while shopping on Amazon, but I decided to go with it. After receiving this cologne and nervously spraying it on after a fresh shower right before work, I was almost instantly relived as I got that first burst of smell from the spray. It reminded me of the beach, and living in coastal California I am quite familiar with that smell. And I immediately thought of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer seeks out to create a mens cologne that smells like the ocean.

I though to myself "Oh my gosh, this is THAT scent!"I wore this cologne to work exclusively for nearly a year, every single day without hesitation. It was as normal as applying deodorant or using soap in the shower. I just sprayed some on after a shower and did whatever I had to do, no matter what it was. It in fact became my signature scent. Of course once I really started thinking about my fragrance use, and how I could try something different, I decided to look for an alternative, something just as good but better. I went on a purchasing spree, buying colognes left and right.

First buying nearly every one of the Nautica house scents (I thought if this Nautica scent is superb, why not try them all?), then I started to venture out a bit more based on suggestions from various reviews. In the end I have spent many thousands of dollars in fragrances, from dirt cheap to severely expensive. And you want to know something? Not ONE of them is as versatile and enjoyable as Voyage is for me.

And NONE of them even come close to the truly amazing scent that Voyage offers. I've never been annoyed or sick of the smell of Voyage, EVER. Which cannot be said for ANY of the other fragrances I have used. Even the most expensive and popular fragrances (Creed Aventus for example) I am sick to death of it by the end of the day and just want the stench off of me (becomes far too cloying). But Voyage seems to be a scent that I can wear 2. Every time I smell the cap on one of the many Voyage bottles I own, I just absolutely LOVE it.

And even after spraying the heck out of myself (overdoing it for sure sometimes), I still enjoy the heck out of it and it never gets old or nasty smelling like every other fragrance I have tried (except for Aqua Di Gio, I could literally take a bath in that cologne and not even smell it 1. FAR too light of a scent in my opinion). For me the scent of Voyage is really hard to describe.

At first before I knew all about the specific notes of fragrances, I just associated Voyage with the smell of the beach. A wonderful time in summer where you had a great experience with family, friends or a girlfriend. Anybody who doesn't live on the coast may not truly know this feeling, but for me it is rock solid.

Voyage for me gives me a few pretty resonating smells. Apple for sure, not an old fermented super- sweet apple like L'Homme by SVL (which smells to me like sickly sweet raisins at certain times), but a nice balanced fresh apple that is crisp, sweet and tart (such as Gravenstein). There is also a definite cucumber smell that is probably the main note that aids to to the salty beach- like freshness of Voyage. Aside from the main characteristics of sweet, apple- fruity and cucumber- salty, there isn't much more as the scent is incredibly linear which smells just as fresh, sweet and awesome on first spray as it does well into and past the drydown. What you smell is what you get.

Which I really admire, as far too many expensive (and even inexpensive) fragrances morph into a completely different scent within the first hour or two, and to me the best smells of a fragrance are almost always in the first few minuets of it's application. Drydown for pretty much everything else I have tried is usually always just a distant blurred shadow of how awesome it smelt upon first spray. And I don't like that, I want something to smell as great on me as it did when I first sprayed, and Voyage is one of the awesome linear ones available that do just that.

My only disappointment is that it isn't stronger and longer lasting. Which is why I diverted from this fragrance in the first place was to find something that was stronger and lasted longer (which I did not find, and doesn't exist as far as I can tell..

NOTHING smells like Voyage does, it is 1. Long story short, get this cologne, it is dirt cheap and women absolutely LOVE it. The bottle I started with was the one with the heavy duty metal cap, then every one after that was the plastic cap.

But from my experience, they all seem to smell exactly the same eventually. Just one thing you could try is steeping your juice. I find that my more "aged" Voyage smells the best (weirdly enough, the stuff that has been exposed to varying heat.. I buy is quite a bit lacking and I can barely smell it on a fresh spray. I get many fresh bottles that are quite weak and not the scent I know, but if I age them for a little while they seem to VASTLY improve. So let your Voyage sit a bit if you want the best possible smell and performance from it.

And storing it in a cool environment is oddly not the best way to age it, despite that being a near requirement for more natural, and expensive, fragrances.
